Top Twitter Tools ImageAre you spending too much time on Social Media?

Are you finding it harder and harder to keep up?

Are you looking for more efficient and effective ways to reach your audience?

I remember the first Tweet I read…My cat ate ____ for breakfast. Really? I love animals, but as a businessman I shunned twitter. Then my curiosity of this new technology prompted me to take a closer look. Over the years I’ve come to learn the power of Twitter.

As I started out on Twitter and learning the platform, I came to enjoy it. As my followers grew, I then started to dislike it because it was taking up hugh chunks of time.

There had to be a better way. So I researched tools that would make me more productive, get me back some time, and maximize my brand exposure.

Here are some powerful tools that will gain hours back in your day without sacrificing your marketing efforts.

1. Hootsuite

This is one of my personal favorites. Hootsuite is one of the leading social media tools with a dashboard to manage and measure your social networks

  • Manage multiple social networks
  • Schedule tweets and messages
  • Track brand mentions
  • Analyze social media traffic
  • 9 million+ satisfied users
  • Set up search specific keywords and hashtags to monitor

From one dashboard you’ll schedule Tweets, Facebook posts,LinkedIn posts, Google+ posts, monitor conversations, and more.

Whether you’re selling locally or across the globe, Hootsuite’s Social Selling solution helps you identify and engage with the right prospects, at the right time. Start closing more deals, faster.

2. Buffer

Buffer is one of the easiest ways to publish on social media. Buffer helps you manage multiple social media accounts at once.

  • Quickly schedule content from anywhere on the web
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Analyze rich statistics on how your posts perform
  • It meets key social media needs of businesses and entrepreneur’s
  • Expand your social influence
  • Solidify your brand presence

One of the key benefits I enjoy in working with buffer is the ability to post to my various social media platforms, and buffer will choose the best time to post based on analytics. Awesome! It’s simple and easy, and the intuitive analytics on each post make it a breeze to see which posts performed best.

3. Tweetdeck

Now owned by Twitter, Tweetdeck is one of the most popular tools for complete Twitter management. Tweetdeck lets you…

  • Track
  • Organize
  • Engage with your followers
  • Manage multiple accounts
  • Refine the results with filters
  • Organize and build custom timelines, keep track of lists

All through a customizable dashboard where you can quickly see at-a-glance the activity from different lists, followers, hashtags, and more.

4. Twtrland

Twtrland is a really powerful tool that has a very large database of social profiles categorized into 60,000 categories.  When you filter people based on the categories you can further refine your search through more filters.

  • Social Media Resume
  • Find Influencers
  • Pro Dashboard for Business
  • Promote your brand
  • Find new customers and leads for your sales team

When you find relevant people to connect to you can open up a really impressive profile of their background. You can see who they are interacting with, what is their most popular content, what type of content they are sharing and much more.

5. Topsy

Topsy is as a powerful search engine for Twitter content. Want to know how a certain term is being used on Twitter? You can…

  • Search links
  • Tweets
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Influencers

See how often your blog is being linked to on Twitter. Type in “site:yourdomain.com,” and you can see how many tweets have included links back to your website.

6. Cybranding

A hashtag on Twitter is a very popular way of creating and monitoring a conversation around a particular topic.  Cybranding is a Hashtag Analytics tool which performs analytics on any hashtag.

You can then view other details such as:

  • Timeline
  • Influencers
  • Related hashtags

For this example #blogchat which is an extremely popular weekly blogchat hosted by Mack Collier.  Once a week a group of people logon to twitter at a specific time and chat about blogging.

To look at analytics on this just enter the hashtag and Cybranding goes off to try and crunch the numbers.

7.  SocialBro

A complete Twitter management tool (that also comes complete with Buffer integration), SocialBro can tell you everything you want to know about your Twitter account

  • Community information
  • Analytics on all your posts
  • Best time to tweet
  • Analyze competitors
  • Benchmark against industry peers

If you ever wonder why people send tweets multiple times about the same piece of content just have a look at Socialbro‘s charts about when your Twitter followers are on line.

As you hover over each circle it will show you the percentage of your Twitter followers online at any one time.  Of course a few logging on later might go back through your twitter stream and see it but overall you’re still talking about a very small percentage.

The total amount that actually will see your tweets is probably only a couple of percent at most!!
